Job Duties
Food Research and Development
Work with R&D manager with new products development to match business, customer, regulatory and cost guidelines
Manage multiple developments simultaneously and under tight deadlines; assist the development, testing, manufacturing of new product line: e.g. frozen meal
Draft SOP for complete production process including formulation, packaging, labeling, etc.
Assist R&D manager regarding formulation and modify recipes as required to meet nutritional/quality specifications & optimize scale up
Package labeling including ingredients, cooking instruction, Nutrition Facts Table
Contact supplier for supporting documentations
Accurately document recipes and results of pilot and plant trials
Job qualifications
At least 1 year working experience in GFSI (SQF, BRC) certified plant and in food factory (preferred)
At least 1 year experience in HACCP (preferred)
Knowledge of food labeling regulation (preferred)
Decent knowledge with Genesis database (preferred)
Food science background is preferred
Ability to read and write in Chinese (simplified or traditional) is required for product documentation; Mandarin or Cantonese listening and speaking skill is an asset
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 9:00-17:30
Job location: 44 Milner Ave., Scarborough, ON M1S 3P8; this position does not support remote working
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $40,000.00 per year
