We're looking for an
R&D and Innovation Specialist
to join our head office located in
Vernon, British Columbia
. Our head office houses Tolko's corporate services groups including Sales, Marketing & Logistics, Finance, Accounting & Credit, IT, Procurement and Human Resources.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
Program
and
project management experience
and
technical management or engineering experience
.
Understanding of the
technical and financial practices
at corporate and business unit levels.
A
technical designation
and/or equivalent post-secondary degree.
Excellent understanding of the
SR&ED program
and the processes and tools available.
Detail-oriented with an aptitude for
communication
and writing
technical reports
.
Strong
leadership
,
communication
, and
organizational skills
with a self-starting "get it done" attitude.
Previous experience in a forest products environment considered an asset.

In this role, you will:
Maintain and improve
the Tolko
SR&ED Program
.
Manage the processes for
identification, approval, documentation, and monitoring
of potential SR&ED projects.
Provide guidance and recommendations on
optimizing SR&ED eligibility
and
tax credits
.
Act as Tolko's representative at external meetings, conferences, and seminars with CRA.
Collaborate with the Continuous Improvement team to
identify synergies
and
opportunities for SR&ED claims
.
Act as a liaison
between FP Innovations staff and Tolko staff, and manage
external SR&ED consultants
.
Work with SR&ED Champions and Team Leaders to identify projects, provide training, and review documentation.
Provide monthly and quarterly
progress reports
.
Maintain and promote the use of the
Tolko Projects Database
.
Undertake
site visits
to review
project eligibility
and
documentation
.
Assist with
technical write-ups
for tax filings.
Explore and lead the
application processes
for
external grants and funding
.
