The R&D Administrative Assistant role is fast paced, involves a high degree of organizational skills and is one of the best launching pads for a career in our company!
Key Responsibilities
Manage data entry, keeping R&D logs updated
Support Sales with project timelines & sample requests
Manage product specifications and pull nutritional data
Note taking, transcribing meetings and benchtop test results
Compile reports tracking R&D monthly spending
Organize documentation, office space, and laboratory ingredient inventory
Investigate, report and make recommendations on technical issues
Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure ERP accuracy for products
Ensure timelines are met or exceeded and customer specifications are followed
Identify, source & manage R&D ingredients
Communicate interdepartmentally within the organization
Support Operations and QA to resolve potential ingredient, formula and process issues
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
1 years' experience in administration in a related role
- Attention to detail and good listening skills
- Knowledge of and interest in food manufacturing and/or nutrition is an asset
- Commercial bakery experience is an asset.
Strong command of the English language with good written and verbal communication skills
Resourceful and strong trouble shooting skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Experience using MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Working knowledge of Canadian and US food standards and regulations an asset
Self-directed individual with initiative, motivation and positive attitude
Be able to work unsupervised and at times, independently and able to delve into new areas outside of one's comfort level
Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to represent the company and project team in a professional manner
The R&D Administrative Assistant position is a full-time, permanent role working Monday through Friday at our North York (Keele & Steeles) location. Free parking and close to York University Subway Station
