Casual & Part time Positions for Resident Care Worker's (RCW) & RA's, Resident Attendants

Centennial Court is a 116 bed not for profit nursing home located in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. We are currently accepting applications for a Casual Resident Care Workers.

Position Summary:

Centennial Court is looking for Casual Part time Resident Care Workers in our long-term care facility in Charlottetown, PEI. If you are highly motivated, energetic, caring, and dedicated to person-centered care then we are looking for you! This position reports to the team leader, or Director of Care, and assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of nursing services in our long-term care facility.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications (please note only candidates with the following qualifications will be considered):

Education from a recognized RCW program Experience in dementia care A valid criminal record check and vulnerable sector check. Up to date CPR training. Up to date immunizations and TB testing. GPA and TLR training.
Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Answer call signals; assist residents to the bathroom; supply and empty bed pans; bathe, dress and groom residents; serve meal trays, feed or assist in feeding of residents and assist residents with menu selection; weigh, lift, turn, and position residents; monitor nutritional intake; supervise residents' exercise routines, set up and provide leisure activities for residents and perform other duties related to resident care and comfort. Provide activities for residents, promote person centered care, socialize and engage with residents for activities of daily living. Take residents' blood pressure, temperature and pulse; report or record fluid intake and output; observe or monitor residents' status and document resident care on charts; administer first aid in emergency situations; collect specimens such as urine, feces or sputum. Follow proper resident transfer policies (TLR). Make beds and maintain residents' rooms. Clean and maintain all medical equipment. Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality. Other duties as required.
Wage range: starting at $19.16 as per the collective agreement for RCW and 17.99 for RA.
