We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Ranch Hand to join our team in Waldeck Saskatchewan. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the daily care and management of livestock in a varied environment. This role requires physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and the ability to operate farm machinery effectively. As a Ranch Hand, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of the animals while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Responsibilities

Ranching activities and maintenance. Feed and water livestock according to established schedules and dietary requirements. Monitor animal health and report any signs of illness or distress to management. Operate and maintain farm machinery, including tractors and feed mixers, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition. Assist with the movement of livestock within the feedlot as needed. Perform heavy lifting tasks, including loading and unloading feed and supplies. Maintain cleanliness and organization of feeding areas, barns, and equipment storage. Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your coworkers. Participate in routine maintenance tasks on farm machinery as required.

Requirements

Expert ability to ride horses considered an asset. Previous experience working with livestock is preferred but not required. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic machinery issues. Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) regularly throughout the day. Familiarity with farm machinery operation is essential; training may be provided for specific equipment. Must be physically fit, able to work outdoors in various weather conditions, and stand for long periods. Strong attention to detail and commitment to animal welfare is crucial. A valid driver's license (1A will be an asset) will be required for operating vehicles on-site.
