Gannett Fleming is seeking a dedicated and experienced Railway Track Specialist to join our dynamic team in Toronto, Ontario.
As a Railway Track Specialist at Gannett Fleming, you will be an essential member of our dedicated team of track engineers, EITs, and inspectors. You will play a crucial role in providing technical expertise and guidance for the design, construction, inspection, and maintenance of railway track systems. Your knowledge and skills will contribute to the successful execution of high-profile rail projects in Canada, ensuring safety, efficiency, and innovation.
In this role, you will leverage your expertise and technical knowledge to offer valuable insights and solutions. You will be a key technical resource for both potential and current clients, providing guidance and recommendations to ensure the success of their rail projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct field inspections and assessments of railway tracks and related infrastructure to identify potential issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
2. Perform compliance reviews to ensure adherence to safety standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
3. Perform inspections to confirm compliance with AREMA and client railway standards.
4. Provide constructability analysis for heavy rail, light rail, and subway programs, considering factors such as alignment, grading, drainage, and track components.
5. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, project managers, and contractors, to ensure seamless integration of track systems within overall rail projects.
6. Assist in the preparation and review of technical drawings, specifications, and reports related to track design and construction.
7. Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and regulations related to railway track systems and incorporate relevant knowledge into project deliverables.
8. Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and technical support to clients and stakeholders.
9. Foster strong relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure successful project outcomes and compliance with applicable standards.
10. Ensure adherence to quality control processes and standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Minimum Qualifications:
\xc2\xb7 8+ years of experience in railroad engineering design, construction, or maintenance for light rail, heavy rail, and/or streetcar transit projects;
\xc2\xb7 Extensive knowledge of track inspection procedures, installation, and maintenance work, including experience in maintaining Continuous Welded Rail (CWR);
\xc2\xb7 Familiarity with Transport Canada track safety rules and other applicable regulations;
\xc2\xb7 Certified and qualified in Track Inspection Guidelines (TIG) with a minimum of 5 years of track inspection experience;
\xc2\xb7 Possess Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR) Certification;
\xc2\xb7 Strong knowledge of railway track components, alignment principles, grading, drainage, and related industry standards;
\xc2\xb7 Prior experience in the railway or transit industry, preferably with a class 1 railroad or transit agency;
\xc2\xb7 Experience working on large-scale transportation/transit construction projects;
\xc2\xb7 Possess a valid driver\'s license and willingness to travel occasionally to project sites both within and outside the Greater Toronto Area and Ontario; and
\xc2\xb7 Degree/college program in a relevant engineering field (civil, mechanical, structural) is an asset
