Lead technical coordination meetings with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams. Prepare and review engineering reports, method statements, and risk assessments. Support procurement planning by developing technical specifications and evaluating supplier proposals.

Innovation & Business Development

Identify and develop opportunities for new business and technical partnerships in the Canadian rail sector. Lead technical proposals, tender submissions, and concept designs that align with client needs and company growth strategy. Research and implement advanced rail technologies--such as slab-track, automated surveying, and predictive maintenance systems. Collaborate with international engineering teams to adapt proven European technologies for Canadian applications.

Leadership & Compliance

Provide mentorship and technical leadership to graduate engineers, technicians, and project teams. Promote and enforce safety standards, ensuring compliance with all federal, provincial, and company regulations. Support continuous improvement and Lean engineering principles within the engineering function. Maintain professional development and registration with relevant Canadian engineering bodies (e.g., P.Eng., EIT).

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Railway Engineering (or equivalent). Minimum 8 years' experience in railway design, construction, or maintenance engineering. Strong knowledge of Transport Canada and AREMA standards. Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary projects and technical teams. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
