Your responsibilities

  • Accountable for achieving organization goals for Rail segment.
  • Serve as a key technical resource for the Rail Segment and member of the FAE team driving growth and positioning ABB in the customer specifications with respect to our AC and DC Railway portfolio including Traction Power Substation (TPSS) and for Rail Energy Storage Solutions (ESS).
  • Provide technical expertise to sales managers including technical advice and development of system architectures for customer inquiries. Provides technical leadership during the technical meet-ing, product presentations and negotiations.
  • Performing analytic and diagnostic studies to determine most suitable technical solution to meet customer needs. Proposes technical solutions for complex enquiries.
  • Articulate customer problems and challenges into a value-based solution addressing technical and commercial benefits.
  • Technical presentations preparation and delivery of technical solutions and demonstrations for both consulting engineering customers and internal staff on complex product issues.
  • Understand and actively help to refine customer expectations, needs & specifications.
  • Communicate efficiently the benefits of our product and project-specific system offerings.
  • Participation required at IEEE conferences.
  • Active participation in Capture Teams for Traction projects.
Your background
  • Bachelor\'s degree in electrical engineering plus 5 years of related technical experience.
  • Location Montreal.
  • Will require the ability to travel within Canada to visit customer sites up to 50% work time.
  • Proven track record in influencing the technical specification for projects.
  • Familiar with electrical power system applications, power electronics and major design considera-tions.
  • Excellent written communication skills and able to efficiently communicate the benefits of modern Electrical Power Distribution and Substation Automation solutions and communication standards e.g. IEC 61850, DNP 3.0.
  • Goal-oriented and self-starter attitude.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Traction projects experience.
  • Interest in Rail as sustainable transportation future (an asset).
