Northwood is currently accepting applications for an RAI Coordinator to join our LTC Nursing services.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the integration of the RAI process into daily practice.
  • Participates in the planning and organizing of the facility RAI process integration and sustainability
  • Provides on-site RAI MDS 2.0 education to all appropriate staff members as a component of staff orientation and regular reviews
  • Managing the coordination of and participating in the timely completion of defined resident assessment protocols, tracking forms, and Resident Care Plans
  • Assisting RAI users to correctly code assessments and providing ongoing support for validation of coding
  • Overseeing the RAI process according to facility policies, provincial and regional regulations, professional colleges, Standards of Practice, and interRAI requirements (see Canadian Institute of Health Information (CIHI) User Manual)
  • Providing ongoing leadership and mentoring for education, data accuracy, data submission, and computer applications of the RAI process
  • Implementing a data quality program to ensure data accuracy and promote capacity building and staff competency.
  • In consultation with management and interdisciplinary team members, developing processes that ensure data integrity, efficient data collection process, assessment completion, and data utilization.
  • Work in a position of trust with vulnerable adults (residents).
  • Uphold and promote the Northwood mission, vision, and values, focusing on person-centered care.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Registered Nurse or LPN \xe2\x80\x93 Province of Nova Scotia with an active license
  • Experience in a health-related field (preferably continuing care)
  • Identified clinical, project leadership, and strong assessment skills in a Long Term Care setting.
  • Demonstrated interest and/or previous experience in a similar RAI role.
  • Three to five years of relevant work experience with adult education strategies/facilitation.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and technology as it relates to education and teaching.
  • Valid Nova Scotia Driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and access to a motor vehicle required
Salary/Benefits: As per the Northwood scale

Hours: 40 hours bi-weekly - Days

Effective: Immediately
