Opportunity:
The Cross Cancer Institute, in conjunction with the University of Alberta and Alberta Health Services, is seeking a physician with dual certification in radiology and nuclear medicine to join the current group of 18 imaging physicians. Strong skills in cross-sectional imaging (CT, MRI, and ultrasound), oncologic imaging, and general radiology are a requirement. The candidate will report general nuclear medicine studies as well as PET/CT and PET/MR. Potential for joining the therapy team for peptide receptor radioligand therapy (PRRT) for those who are interested. An aptitude for, and additional training in, multimodality image guided biopsies and venous access procedures would be a bonus.

Cancer Care Alberta (CCA) provides a comprehensive and coordinated system of care to meet the needs of Albertans, including the operation of 17 cancer care facilities across the province. Tertiary level care is provided in Edmonton and Calgary, and there are regional cancer centres with radiotherapy services in Lethbridge, Red Deer, Medicine Hat and Grande Prairie.
Cross Cancer Institute (CCI) is a freestanding integrated cancer treatment and research facility that functions as the tertiary oncology referral centre for Northern Alberta. CCI is a leader in innovative cancer research, prevention, treatment and care initiatives. It has a strong record of basic and translational research as well as clinical trial activity in Oncology. Some familiarity with early drug development/ph 1 would be an asset, as would training and experience with cell therapy (BMT and CarT). The ability to work with our translational science team would be an advantage. This cancer centre sees both in- and out-patients, currently treating over 21,000 patients in one year.
Salary Details:
Compensation will be commensurate with the level of training and experience and will comply with the agreement between Cancer Care Alberta, AHS and the Alberta Medical Association. The annual compensation will be calculated in accordance with the Cancer Care Alberta Physician compensation grid for Radiation Oncologists ranging from $322,857.00 (xc2xa3180,602.00 GBP) (level 1) to $464,743.00 (xc2xa3259,970.00 GBP) (level 4). Grid placement will be based on qualifications, training, and experience. Annual Compensation is based on the contracted 210 Service days.
