Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Haley has a great opportunity for a Radiographer Level 2 Technician. The successful incumbent will perform calibrations, Non-Destructive Tests, training of personnel, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written acceptance criteria. The individual must be capable of interpreting sand castings and welds to various customer requirements and codes. The RT Level 2 Technician will organize, compile, and report results.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Have the ability to perform hands-on radiography with RT techniques to Magellan radiation safety and NDT procedures
  • Interpret digital and film images for pass/fail to applicable codes, storing images and processing components to written instructions, organize and report test results
  • Calibrate NDT testing equipment
  • Conduct Radiographic tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities
  • Control the radiation area
  • Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations and approved techniques
  • May perform specialized inspections
  • May instruct , train, and supervise others
  • Perform other job related tasks as assigned by Responsible Level 3
  • Certify to internal qualification per NAS-410 and applicable Magellan procedure
Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • CGSB Level 2 RT certification
  • Industrial Radiation Safety Officer(RSO) would be asset
  • Knowledge in NDT methods, procedures, and equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections
  • Ability to do shift work
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Proficient in the use of software, MS Word, PowerPoint
