This position is in Ericsson's Radio team in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. We are seeking a Radio lab Integration & Verification engineer to join a software development team responsible for developing and testing radio product software with a focus on defining, building, and maintaining our labs for the integration of new features and platforms. Our focus is on Lean and Agile ways of working. We organize in cross functional development teams in which continuous improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing is part of the daily work.

You will:
Be actively engaged in the lab/configuration preparation for performing end to end verification of Ericsson family of Remote radios and AAS radios, in particular:

  • Work with feature test managers/leads to develop required test configurations for new radios
  • Work with lab coordinator to secure lab space/power and secure/order all required test hardware and equipment
  • Work with the cell assignment coordinator to order the required cells for the testing
  • Collaborate with lab provisioning team, initially using de-risk radio of the same band(s), to prepare bringing up the Baseband with the desired configuration and verify basic E-2-E traffic with real Qualcomm UEs covering multiple RATs where applicable: L, NBIoT, CATM, NR, ESS, GSM, WCDMA
  • Work with stock room and hardware integration team to ensure smooth delivery of new radio to the desired lab location and co-ordinate with lab installation team to ensure proper installation with the desirable connectivity for conducted E-2-E testing
  • Commission the lab configuration with applicable Baseband S/W and radio under test with successful UE traffic, and transfer ownership to nodal testers for acceptance
  • Work with lab coordinator to provide on-demand support for TTG team to investigate/reproduce field issues
  • Work with the UE team to provide 1st level of UE support to the RSW community: basic query, troubleshooting, and UE reflash etc. Maintain a current UE inventory list
  • Assist in decommissioning lab equipment (in particular UEs) after test cycle completes
To be successful in the role you must have:
  • Education: B. Sc. or M. Sc. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years' working experience in Wireless integration test
  • Strong background in 4G/5G End to End integration along with hands-on lab configuration/testing experience
  • Ability to learn, perform, collaborate, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced dynamic team environment
  • Excellent interpersonnal and communication skills
  • Provide on-site support for on-going projects or field issues
