Follow the procedures that are required in setting up a race course including setting safety netting, placing and setting gates for race course, and setting up timing systems.
Responsible for setting and placing signage in specified locations for the general public's awareness of closed ski runs.
Ensure all objects are off the hill before reopening the ski run to ensure safety of all patrons.
Race crew staff, in conjunction with volunteers and coaches, will ensure that all race courses are maintained to ensure safety of all athletes or clients by continuous slipping and re-screwing or replacing gates.
Respond and complete maintenance issues on course by utilizing drills, gate keys, and extra gates.
Sideslip post-race for re-opening run
Qualifications
Intermediate/Advanced or above skiing/snowboarding skills
Prior experience racing or working for a racing program considered an asset
Willing and able to work outdoors in a variety of unpredictable weather conditions
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. of gates and/or fencing while side slipping down the mountain
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent customer service skills
Must be able to work flexible hours; including weekends and holidays
