Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

• Produce all CAD/CAM files for cutting, folding, welding and finishing of sheet metal parts with production drawings using Solidworks.
• Liaison with manufacturing as the \xe2\x80\x9cdesign expert\xe2\x80\x9d and provide on-going technical support and continuous improvement
• Determine best engineering practices and communicate with the team
• Develop and test prototypes for special projects
• Review design details and flag conflicts

• Resolve engineering and design-related issues as they may occur
• Check, approve and process drawings, BOMs, and databases
• Ensure designs meet both price, performance and Manufacturing requirements
• Interface with other departments to make sure that collaborative teams are working to a common goal
• Experience with the complete development cycle of sheet metal based products from conception to manufacture.
• Work on creating quotes for customer as per their request by evaluating drawings using ERP system(JobBOSS).
• Maintaining daily schedule of the engineering department so that the production schedule remains on time.

Required Qualifications and experience:

• Proficient in Solidworks (CSWP), Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Have experience with sheet metal drawings and key concepts such as K Factor, Bend deductions.
• Understanding and practical application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Able to maintain good relations with vendors and representatives.
• Strong time management, planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi task & work under pressure.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
• Skills as a creative team player in brainstorming to find solutions for specific customer application problems.
