We are currently seeking a motivated team member to join our Quality Team take responsibility in varied duties as follows:

Job Overview


The Quality Technician, under the direction of the Quality Team Leader, is responsible for providing support to the quality, production and production control departments in the areas of supplier management, monitoring of process controls, product quality, shipping/receiving, production scheduling, production planning and customer satisfaction while supporting the policies and standard operating procedures of Howa Canada Manufacturing.

Responsibilities


- A) Perform Mold line first piece inspection at beginning of each shift and following that after mold change in the absence of Quality Technician.

B) Complete daily Layered Process Audits and document all findings and associated corrective actions on the LPA form.

C) Support maintenance of the ISO 9001 QMS and perform internal audits as scheduled

D) Analyze, identify and implement manufacturing and/or business process improvements which can improve part quality or lead to process improvements.

E) Participate in team based problem solving using quality principles and tools for root cause analysis and corrective action.

F) Approve all first piece inspections completed in assembly. This includes verifying the actual part for each first piece inspection completed in the absence of Quality Technician.

G) Assist production with the reworking of any product set aside on the suspect parts rack that are repairable. Sign off on all rework completed by either Team Leader or production associates on the defect tracking sheets.

H) Prepare the daily first pass yield report. This includes printing and posting copies in both molding and assembly.

I) For any suspect material placed on hold, the material must be identified with a proper hold tag.

J) Contain any suspect material in house until a clean point is established. Issue Quality alerts as appropriate.

K) Maintain and distribute monthly supplier scorecards

L) Manage and maintain all internal testing equipment/ organize annual calibrations

M) Weekly 5S and cleaning of the quality areas.

N) Provide Production training to new hires when required and support production requirements by operating production machinery in the event of attendance concerns

O) Perform back up duties as Shipper/Receiver when necessary

P) Perform back up duties as Production Scheduling and Planning when necessary

Q) Any other job-related duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Experience


- Proven experience in quality management, quality assurance, or a related field
- Familiarity with QA/QC processes and procedures
- Strong ability to perform accurate quality inspections and data collection
- Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting quality data
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Must be able to assess measurement and test equipment accuracy and with precision.

Minimum 1-2 years in a quality position or similar role within a manufacturing environment

SKILLS: (preferred)



1. Good problem solving skills.

2. Knowledge in SPC, Controls Plans, PFMEA's and Process Flow Charts.

3. Good organizational and interpersonal skills.

4. Good computer skills. (Microsoft Excel)

5. Able to work independently or within a team. Must be self-motivated.

6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

7. Certified Internal Quality Systems Auditor to ISO9001:2015

EDUCATION: (preferred)



Preference to formal Quality education and/or ASQ certifications CGT or equivalent.

Minimum of 2 years working experience in a Quality Control capacity in a manufacturing environment. Preference to experience within a Tier 1 Japanese automotive facility.
