Job Summary
The Quality Systems & Compliance Manager ensures that production processes, products, and practices adhere to ISO 9001:2015 Quality System, regulatory standards, and industry best practices. This role is responsible for maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring regulatory compliance, overseeing audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
Quality Management System (QMS) Maintenance:
Develop, implement, and maintain AVL Manufacturing's Quality Management System (QMS).
Ensure all manufacturing activities align with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Schedule and perform regular internal audits to assess compliance with established QMS protocols.
Identify and train auditors to perform internal audits.
Monitor Key Performance Indicators and maintain an action log to ensure corrective measures are implemented.
Schedule, plan, and execute management review meetings.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, UL, environmental and health regulations).
Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and best practices, applying them to manufacturing processes.
Coordinate external audits and inspections by regulatory agencies.
Documentation and Reporting:
Establish document control and system development standards, including drawing release and work instructions.
Maintain accurate documentation of compliance-related activities, audits, and corrective actions.
Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required.
Ensure proper documentation of production processes and quality control checks.
Non-Conformance and Corrective Action:
Investigate non-conformances and deviations from quality standards.
Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve identified issues.
Conduct root cause analysis to identify recurring problems and establish corrective measures.
Training and Education:
Train and educate employees on quality standards, compliance requirements, and industry regulations.
Conduct regular refresher courses to keep employees updated on compliance practices.
Continuous Improvement:
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements to improve product quality and compliance.
Work with other departments to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce waste while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Supplier Quality Management:
Monitor and evaluate suppliers for non-conformances and compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and ensure compliance with required standards.
Job Specific Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience
Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality systems management within a manufacturing environment.
In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and other regulatory requirements.
Experience conducting audits and implementing quality control measures.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in quality management software and reporting tools.
Other Requirements
Demonstrate knowledge and an understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Understand how this position impacts the quality of products and services our customers provide.
