This positionis responsible for the supervision of the Quality and Laboratory team and day to day implementation of the Quality Control program.
Main Responsibilities:
Ensure QC procedures and records are up to date and appropriate for the applicable process
Onsite and written verification of daily monitoring tasks
Investigate any non-compliances related to monitoring tasks
Ensure finished product, work in progress and raw materials meet specification. Reporting any deviations to the Quality Manager and participate in investigations
Participate in corrective action and preventive action process (CAPA). Ensure operational CAPAs are implemented as written
Coordinate with the Farm Harvest and Logistics teams to ensure timely reception of inbound raw materials
Supervise the hold and release program
Act as the primary point of communication and collaboration between Quality and all other departments
Responsible for scheduling of Quality and Laboratory Technicians in coordination with the Manager
Train and act as support for Quality Team Lead and Quality Techs
Proactive supervision of Quality and Laboratory Technicians promoting an open line of communication with positivity and care; report any personnel, performance, efficiencies issues to the Quality Manager or Human Recourses where appropriate
Participate in recruitment, selection and interviewing of Quality Technicians
Ensure the adherence of company policies and procedures
Participate in the Ground and Wastewater Program
Various inspections of the processing areas including pre-operational inspections
Monitoring and immediate correction of production employee Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
Ensure effective collaboration and communication of microbiological programs & with the Laboratory Team Lead
Promote and comply with health, safety and environmental standards including ergonomics, safe operating procedures, good housekeeping practices, WHMIS, and the observance of PPE requirements at all times
Assists in building a safety culture and upholding company values

Main Responsibilities

Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biology or equivalent experience in quality control
Familiar with food manufacturing environments and GMP
Competent in Microsoft Office
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to organize and supervise teams
On the spot decisionmaking and sound judgement
