Position Summary:
The Quality Manager will oversee all quality assurance and quality control functions within the facility. This is an active, hands-on role -- you will be directly involved in the production environment, identifying issues, supporting teams, and implementing real-time improvements. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and ownership in the creation and implementation of instructions, competencies, procedures, and processes that support operational excellence and quality compliance.
The Quality Manager will also oversee program launch activities, facilitating the testing, tooling development, and additional resources required.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Quality Department, ensuring adherence to company, customer, and regulatory standards.
Oversee and manage all PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities.
Develop, implement, and maintain work instructions, quality procedures, competencies, and process documentation.
Maintain and continuously improve the ISO-based Quality Management System (QMS).
Conduct internal audits, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Analyze quality and production data to identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve productivity.
Manage non-conformances, customer concerns, and supplier quality issues.
Support production teams through direct floor engagement and training.
Lead initiatives for continuous improvement and best practice implementation.
To plan, develop, direct, organize and control the design of production processes.
This position supports the JEMS Quality Management System (QMS) and is committed to fulfilling the requirements of the JEMS QMS.
Develop and provide manufacturing processes for: new parts, process improvements, process set-up and process problem solving.
Design, co-ordinate production flows verify efficiency of tooling, gauges, fixtures
Manage and participate in the APQP process
Participate in quoting, PPAP and PFMEA proceedings, tooling design, packaging requirements and all product/program related requirements
Analyze production processes, provide technical manufacturing and engineering guidance for the purpose of organizational improvement efforts and continual improvement activities, process improvement for waste reduction, productivity improvement and quality enhancement opportunities
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
Proven experience with PPAP, APQP, Failure Mode Effects & Analysis (FMEA), Control Plans, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 quality systems.
Experience in manufacturing or automotive environments (is an asset).
Willingness to be actively involved on the production floor.
Ability to use job-related programs (AutoCAD, Solidworks).
