Job Description


Aplin has partnered with one of our fast-growing clients within the healthcare sector to hire a highly motivated and driven Quality Manager. This exciting opportunity will enable the Quality Manager to collaborate with the executive team to establish a departmental vision and strategic plan related to corporate and quality initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support projects led or related to quality and lead Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
  • Evaluate trends and develop continuous improvement initiatives to improve product safety and quality, and control compliance costs.
  • Manage QA staff and lead the site to achieve quality goals and objectives.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate specifications in conjunction with R&D.
  • Ensure Operations incorporate quality objectives and measures into their annual goals and plans.
  • Prepare annual QA capital plan, and develop, and manage departmental budget.
  • Ensure that the required quality systems and control processes enable ongoing certifications.
  • Evaluate trends of key quality parameters, identify deviations and root causes, and implement effective preventive and corrective actions.
  • Establish effective communications with internal and external stakeholders as well as external regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure effective risk assessments and qualifications are performed for all new products, processes, and equipment installations while meeting Quality guidelines.
  • Ensure the effective transition of new products from R&D product, process, and packaging development to plant operations.
  • Promptly investigate all customer feedback, including Consumer Complaints, and regulatory feedback, and develop plans and controls to prevent recurrences.
  • Provide technical expertise to production Operations regarding effective sanitation procedures and micro-testing techniques to monitor the effectiveness of the same.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the program and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead new quality initiatives (both customer and industry-driven).
  • Direct and administer the in-house laboratory and the testing program.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in business administration, Science, Engineering, or Chemistry related fields.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA, etc.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a Quality Assurance leadership role in a food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, or consumer/personal care business.
  • Operations leadership and/or plant-wide project leadership experience will be ideal along with a good understanding of ISO, OHSA, and HACCP principles.
  • Prior experience with Manufacturing cGMP, Food and Drug Regulations, Consumer Packaging Act and Regulations, and the Ontario Health and Safety Act.
