WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Quality Manager is an integral member of the Landmark team and will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to build strong, collaborative relationships. This key role leads and manages quality assurance and quality control activities across construction and fabrication operations, ensuring all work meets project specifications, applicable codes, and established quality standards. The Quality Manager develops and implements quality control processes, conducts site inspections and audits, coordinates with project managers, subcontractors, and inspectors, and addresses deficiencies through corrective and preventive actions. Responsibilities also include maintaining quality documentation, monitoring compliance throughout the project lifecycle, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to deliver safe, high-quality project outcomes. This position is based in Salmon Arm, working in a combination of office, fabrication shop, and construction site environments. Travel will be required to out-of-town project sites. Duties and skills include, but are not limited to:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Management & Systems
Develop, implement, and maintain the company Quality Management System (QMS)
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 (or equivalent), client specifications, and regulatory requirements
Prepare, review, and approve Quality Plans, ITPs, procedures, and work instructions
Lead internal and external audits and manage corrective/preventive actions
Construction & Fabrication Oversight
Oversee quality control activities in fabrication shops and on construction sites
Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (CSA, AWS, ASME, AISC, ASTM, etc.)
Review welding procedures (WPS/PQR), welder qualifications, and inspection records
Coordinate inspections, testing, and certifications with third-party inspectors
Project Support
Support project teams during bidding, planning, execution, and closeout phases
Review project quality documentation and ensure contract requirements are met
Investigate non-conformances, root causes, and implement corrective actions
Interface with clients, inspectors, and regulatory authorities on quality matters
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
Train and mentor quality inspectors, supervisors, and project staff
Promote a culture of quality, safety, and accountability
Analyze quality metrics and lead continuous improvement initiatives
Contribute to lessons learned and process optimization across projects
Assist in project risk analysis and contingency planning.
Commitment to safety
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
5-10+ years of quality management experience in construction and/or fabrication
Strong knowledge of structural steel, industrial fabrication, or construction processes
Experience with quality standards such as ISO 9001
Solid understanding of inspection, testing, and documentation requirements
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and codes
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines
Demonstrated ability to develop relationships
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License with clean driving record.
Ability to work in industrial environments and meet site safety requirements
Preference will be given to those candidates with the following:
CWB Level 2 Inspector, AWS CWI, or equivalent certification
Experience with pressure vessels, piping, or industrial construction
Knowledge of NDT methods (VT, MT, UT, RT)
Post-secondary education in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Experience working with EPC or large-scale industrial projects
