Position Overview



We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Manager to develop, implement, and lead a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) in a production environment. This is a ground-floor opportunity to build the entire quality function in a growing company. The successful candidate will establish processes, metrics, and teams to ensure consistent quality, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities



Build and Implement Quality Systems

Design and roll out a scalable QMS tailored to a production environment. Develop SOPs, work instructions, inspection protocols, and process control systems. Lead efforts to obtain and maintain relevant certifications (e.g., ISO 9001).
Production Quality Oversight

Establish standards and procedures for incoming material, in-process, and final inspections. Define and monitor quality KPIs (e.g., defect rates, scrap, rework, first pass yield). Perform root cause analysis and drive corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to address quality challenges. Participate in new product introduction (NPI) and ensure design-for-quality practices. Serve as a liaison with customers on product quality concerns or audits.
Auditing and Compliance

Plan and conduct internal audits; prepare for external audits from customers or regulators. Ensure compliance with applicable industry regulations and standards. Maintain detailed records for traceability, non-conformance, and improvement tracking.
Supplier Quality Management

Develop supplier quality evaluation and performance monitoring systems. Partner with Procurement to resolve quality issues with vendors and drive improvements.
Team Building and Leadership

Hire and develop a small quality team as the company scales. Train production staff on quality standards and inspection procedures. Champion a quality-driven culture across all departments.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related field, P.Eng preferred. Minimum 5-7 years of quality experience in a production or high-volume manufacturing environment Proven track record of building a QMS from the ground up Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, quality tools (SPC, FMEA, 5 Whys, 8D), and lean manufacturing principles Hands-on experience with quality inspection tools and reporting systems Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills Certifications such as CQE, Six Sigma, or ISO Lead Auditor are a plus
