The Opportunity:

We are seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer to join our growing quality team and support the execution of our quality management system. Reporting to our Quality Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day technical quality activities that ensure our products and processes meet the highest standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid quality experience who wants to make a direct impact in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Supplier Quality Management



Conduct supplier audits (primarily local/regional, ~5% travel) to assess quality systems and manufacturing capabilities Support supplier development initiatives and corrective action follow-up Review and approve supplier documentation including PPAPs, control plans, and certificates of conformance Collaborate with procurement to evaluate and qualify new suppliers

Nonconformance & Corrective Action



Create and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for internal and external quality issues Investigate root causes using structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone) Track and verify effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions Maintain accurate quality records and metrics

Product & Process Quality



Review and approve Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions Participate in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities Support engineering change management processes and documentation Develop and maintain inspection procedures, work instructions, and control plans

Customer Quality Interface



Manage customer feedback and complaints related to quality issues Prepare customer-facing quality documentation and reports Support customer audits and quality inquiries Track customer quality metrics and drive improvement initiatives

Quality System Support



Assist with internal audits and ISO 9001 compliance activities Support continuous improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma tools Maintain quality documentation in accordance with QMS requirements Help prepare materials for management reviews and external audits

Qualifications:



Education:



Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field preferred Diploma in Quality, Engineering Technology, or related field with strong experience will be considered

Experience:



3-5 years of hands-on quality experience in a manufacturing environment Experience with electrical equipment, power systems, or industrial manufacturing is a strong asset Demonstrated experience with PPAP, APQP, FMEA, and control plan methodologies Proven track record of conducting supplier audits and managing nonconformances

Technical Skills:



Strong understanding of ISO 9001 quality management systems Proficiency with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies Experience with quality planning tools (FMEA, control plans, inspection procedures) Solid statistical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret quality data Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite is a plus) and quality management software
