Quality Management System (QMS) Manager - Aerospace

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Quality Management System (QMS) Manager
to take ownership of all quality system functions within a precision manufacturing environment. This is a
critical leadership role
responsible for ensuring compliance with
AS9100 and aerospace quality standards
, overseeing audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
The ideal candidate will bring a
mechanical engineering background
, strong quality assurance expertise, and proven experience in the
aerospace sector
.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, plan, and conduct
internal QMS audits
for compliance with AS9100 standards.
Manage
internal, supplier, and third-party audits
, including shop floor inspections.
Act as
primary liaison
with external auditors during certification and recertification audits.
Drive
Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA)
to resolve customer issues.
Oversee
receiving inspection activities
to ensure part conformity.
Own and manage the
DSQR process
.
Compile information for and lead
Management Review Meetings
.
Mentor and train employees on QMS requirements and best practices.
Provide assessment of overall QMS health and recommend improvements.
Ensure effective closure of all corrective actions within defined timelines.
Support compliance with
ISO 9001, AS9100, and other applicable standards
.
Qualifications
Education:
Certificate or degree in
Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Process Engineering
.
Certified
ISO/AS9100 Auditor
.
Experience:
Minimum
10+ years of Quality Assurance experience
in manufacturing at the management level.
Aerospace industry experience is mandatory
.
Strong working knowledge of
AS9100 and aerospace/nuclear quality standards
.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong leadership in problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Excellent
communication, reporting, and negotiation skills
.
Ability to interact with customers on audits, visits, and investigations.
Strong analytical skills to identify key issues from complex details.
Ability to lead projects to successful completion.
Knowledge of statistical tools, concepts, and quality methodologies.
