About the Role -
We are looking for a quality professional with strong organizational and communication skills. The main goal of this position is to maintain operational day to day efficiency for all quality related activities, keeping response times short and loops closed among the different functional areas. As our Quality Inspector, you will bring a keen quality presence to our staff being an approachable resource to funnel questions and concerns ensuring effective resolution. You will maintain uniformity and consistency in our training systems, promoting a continuous learning and growth culture.
Responsibilities
Perform incoming inspection of RAW material and finished products from suppliers - Visual, dimensional and functional tests.
Use calipers, micrometer, sample limits, DFT gauges and JIGs for inspections.
Good attention to detail - Ability to inspect for color and verify if the product is within acceptable range.
Day to Day random inspection of finished products from assembly stations at a predetermined frequency.
Day to Day inspection of first off samples from processes on floor (as required):
+ Wrapping, Slitting, Injection Molding and Powder coating. Inspect Warehouse area for process inconsistency.
Assist in training of new operators onboarding & New Product Implementation - educate team members on products and good assembly processes.
Record inspection data from inhouse processes and receiving material - using digital forms and report any nonconformance.
Isolate defective batches and work with production team to perform sorting activities as needed.
Perform day to day stock adjustments in ERP system from inline rejection forms.
Maintain and track list of tools utilized on workstations and record frequency of repairs.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workstations as needed.
Must be able to lift/carry/handle up to 30 lbs.
Education and Experience
A 2-year quality or a technical diploma will be considered an asset
At least 2 years of experience in an operational environment required
Excellent problem solving and Risk analysis skills
Strong computer skills and analytical ability
Manufacturing knowledge of powder coated, extruded/anodized aluminum and/or zinc die-casting will be considered an asset
Self-starter, proactive and able to work independently
Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
Must be high-performance team player and be willing to work in a dynamic, growing, demanding and fast-paced environment
