POSITION:

Quality Initiatives Mentor

REPORTS TO:

Supervisor or Manager, Quality Initiatives

Position Profile:



This position supports the Quality Enhancement Initiative program, currently Raising the Bar in Peel (RTBP) in collaboration with the rest of the Quality Initiatives programs including Professional Learning (PL) and the Resource Library.

Major Responsibilities:



In compliance with CECE standards and expectations of funders

P

romote the quality initiative in the community

Collaborate with program colleagues and key stakeholders in order to fulfill CDRCP's Strategic Plan

Mentor child care and early years' programs with varying philosophies, curriculums and operational structures (in person and virtually aligned with virtual support guidelines)

Conduct in person virtual and visits to child care programs as per site visit guidelines and complete appropriate documentation

Mentorship and Support in this role will be provided through visits, face to face meetings, communities of practice, virtual sessions, and through other means that are effective practices

Prepare and support all profile reflection documents and tools (in person and virtually)

Support the coordination and facilitation of the RTB related events

Conduct needs assessment for program support; educators for their learning and resource needs

Prepare monthly reports including observing trends and gaps in services offered to the community

Gather, analyze and respond to community feedback related to Quality Initiatives

Promote and provide PL sessions and relevant resources

Plan, develop and offer multi-media presentation materials and PL opportunities Plan and facilitate sessions to support the Child Care and Early Years community

The incumbent is required to maintain all health and safety standards, including but not limited to the infectious disease directives and procedures, sanitation of work stations and common areas in the office as per protocols

Knowledge Management, Skills and Abilities:



Maintain strong awareness and understanding of CDRCP's programs and services

Engage in public education and awareness to promote PL and RTB

Maintain sound knowledge of all relevant and pending legislation

Review relevant research to ensure practices and resources reflect best practices.

Maintain broad knowledge of early learning and child development, pedagogy, andragogy andbest practices related to eLearning

Accountability:



Support the implementation of service delivery standards and outcomes related to quality measurement and evaluation, based on effective practices

Collect and maintain data, surveys and feedback to accurately monitor the efficiency and an effectiveness of PL and the RTBP process

Work within the approved budget

Utilize reporting procedures and maintain accurate and concise documentation

Provide and review weekly and monthly work plans to Manager/Supervisor that

demonstrate deliverables and duties are being met as per expectations along with updates on other projects as assigned.

Leadership:



Support the early learning and care setting by, sharing information, resources and professional learning opportunities which support the development of quality programs for children

Provide support to third party reviewers and peer reviewers

Actively participate in staff meetings, committees and community meetings and events

(physically and remotely)

Physical Effort/Environment:



The incumbent works in a standard office environment including the use of current technology and is not exposed to unpleasant environmental conditions. CDRCP is a scent free organization

The incumbent may be required to work remotely, and should maintain working standards in line with all relevant policies or procedures issued by CDRCP

The incumbent may be required to engage in staggered shifts/breaks, rotating weeks in the office, work remotely, and move workstations for enhanced health and safety measures

The incumbent is required to travel within and outside Peel to complete job responsibilities. The ability to drive and move frequently from one location to another is required

The incumbent is required to follow guidelines and directives regarding infectious disease control

Problem Solving/Decision Making:



Facilitate presentations and professional learning, and project information at professional conferences, seminars and community events (in person and virtual)

Maintain and enhance the PL and RTBP websites

Recommend and develop resource library materials that support PL and RTBP

Encourage participants to use available resources and supports offered through CDRCP

Qualifications:



Minimum E.C.E. Degree /or Diploma early learning and child care including 3-5 years of supervisory experience

Registered with the College of ECEs

Knowledge of CDRCP's PL and RTB program

Strong communication, analytical, negotiation, problem solving, time management and mentoring skills

Knowledge of the principles/effective practices of quality early learning and child care programs with diverse philosophies

Working knowledge of current technology including databases, social media, websites, and internal approved platforms for communication

Clear English verbal and written communication skills, second language an asset

Acceptable Criminal Reference Check

Ability to respect confidentiality and abide by all legislation

Ability to work flexible hours

Possession of a valid Driver's License, a safe driving record and access to independent transportation
