What You'll Do
As our
Quality Improvement Nurse
, you will be at the forefront of enhancing resident care by leading the charge on quality initiatives and clinical program evaluations. Your primary mission is to oversee the implementation and ongoing success of our Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Program, ensuring every element of care is optimized and consistently improving.
You'll work closely with the Nurse Practitioner, department managers, and the interdisciplinary care team to collect, analyze, and act on data that drives better outcomes for our residents.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a go-to expert and resource on all things related to quality improvement, supporting team members, committees, and department managers.
Ensure all CQI-related committees are active and that accurate records (including meeting minutes) are maintained.
Conduct regular nursing audits based on our Master Audit Schedule and lead follow-up discussions on findings with the Clinical Manager (CM), Director of Nursing (DON), and relevant committees.
Create and summarize CQI Audit Reports, highlighting trends and identifying areas for focused improvement.
Launch and monitor Focused Audits for any areas identified as non-compliant until issues are fully resolved.
Compile monthly Risk Indicator Reports and present data during Resident Safety, CQI, and PAC committee meetings.
Analyze monthly performance insights by comparing home statistics with provincial averages and peer facilities, then share findings with leadership.
Track key quality programs monthly, skin care, pain management, fall prevention, responsive behaviors, infection control, continence care, nutrition/hydration, and more, ensuring continuous monitoring and improvement.
What We're Looking For
Licensed RN
in good standing with the
College of Nurses of Ontario
Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail and a passion for improving care
Excellent communicator and team collaborator
Previous experience in quality improvement or utilization review in a healthcare setting is a strong asset
