Quality Improvement Manager

Quality, Risk and Innovation
Candidates are invited to apply for a fulltime position of Quality Improvement Manager (QIM) for Wyndham Manor.
Reporting to the Administrator the QIM will operate as the driver of quality improvement within the home, by collaborating with
local and regional teams. The successful candidate will operate as part of the interdisciplinary management team in accordance
with Extendicare\xe2\x80\x99s policies, practices and current legislation. The position is for Wyndham Manor located in Oakville, Ontario.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee quality initiatives across the home with a focus on indicators
  • Access and implement project
  • Develop solutions to existing quality improvement barriers
  • Provide local and regional oversight for an assigned quality initiative
  • Track and trend quality performance
  • Attend and participate in local committee meetings
  • Lead / chair a quality improvement committee within the home
  • Provide frontline presence on the units to support, evaluate and better understand quality and barriers to quality
  • Use project management skills to lead teams towards common goals
  • Identify gaps in training and education that impact quality
  • Report findings to other members of the management team
  • Attend management meetings
  • Participation in performance appraisals and Accreditation
QUALIFICATIONS
\xef\x80\xaa Must have knowledge about quality improvement within Long Term Care (LTC)
\xef\x80\xaa Must be passionate about geriatrics
\xef\x80\xaa LTC experience required
\xef\x80\xaa Project management is an asset
\xef\x80\xaa Must be a team player
\xef\x80\xaa 5 years of leadership experience (Preferred)
\xef\x80\xaa Must demonstrate and possess exceptional customer service skills
\xef\x80\xaa Familiarity and understanding of electronic health record systems i.e. PCC, RAI/MDS, RUGS, E-MAR, POC
tablets \xe2\x80\x93 asset
Knowledge of LTC industry regulatory requirements and current Best Practices - asset
\xef\x80\xaa Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to coach and work effectively with others
and an ability to effect change
\xef\x80\xaa Quality Indicator understanding
\xef\x80\xaa Ability to work independently and be self-directed
\xef\x80\xaa Ability to facilitate others with problem solving processes
\xef\x80\xaa Excellent written and oral communication
