This position is part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA).
In accordance with the , this position has a pro-rated annual salary range of $45,681 to $57,110. This position is not eligible for benefits. This position has an end date of December 30, 2026.
Location - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person work at North Campus Edmonton.
To support quality improvement research projects and facilitate implementation. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the principal investigator, Dr. Stephanie Thompson, Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology. The incumbent will focus on two main projects:
i. Integrating a frailty care pathway into kidney care and;
ii. Improving access to weight management for individuals living with kidney failure and obesity.
The coordinator will be responsible for multiple tasks, including: identifying and engaging with stakeholders, co-leading pre-implementation, using quality improvement approaches and implementation science to achieve the project objectives.
Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder engagement: collaborate with faculty, clinicians, patients, internal and external partners to foster collaboration and engagement.
  • Project leadership: lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of quality improvement and implementation activities to achieve project objectives. ? Coach and educate health-care staff on quality improvement principles and implementation as these pertain to the project objectives.
  • Apply quality improvement approaches to meet project objectives e.g. resource mapping and gap analysis, testing PDSA cycles.
  • Ensure that QI efforts align with broader organizational, AHS, and provincial health system priorities and accreditation requirements.
Qualifications:
Minimum
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • MSc or higher degree is an asset.
  • Clinical or health-related research experience and project coordination are desireable
  • Knowledge of administrative structures, policies and procedures within the University of Alberta, as well as Alberta Health Services.
  • Written and oral communication skills, organizational and Interpersonal skills. ? Facilitation, negotiation and problem-solving skills, and ability to handle challenging interpersonal situations.
  • Financial management, analysis and reporting skills ? Proficiency in a Windows platform computer environment and a working knowledge of various programs and Information skills, including Microsoft Office applications, Internet, E-Mail, etc.
