VAC Developments Ltd is a growing Canadian Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing Company. We are looking for a
Final Inspector
to join our Quality Department.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring that all products are defect free and compliant with customer and technical specifications.
Perform work in-process, first-off and final inspection of precision machined components and assemblies including all part marking methods (chem etch, ink stamp, label) for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications, and process standards.
Use various mechanical inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, thread gages, optical comparators, etc.
Creates Material Warrant as per customer requirements.
Verify complete assembly job cards for compliance to specifications.
Witness Assembly activities as required
Accept or reject material or articles; identify and document non-conformances on appropriate forms and notify appropriate personnel of potential rejection of items.
Prepare and maintain inspection records.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department and the organization
Effectively communicate inspection criteria to applicable personnel.
Participation in solving non-conformance issues.
Adherence to the quality control standards, processes and work instructions.
Participate in continuous improvement teams as required.
Document finished product status by recording and summarizing, in-process, and finished-product inspection and physical test data; updating quality assurance data base.
Participate in safety training and comply with all safety regulations.
Work in an organized manner with attention to details.
Required Skills and Experience:
University degree or College Diploma in related field is preferred with
5 years'
experience in Quality or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Preferred background in aerospace and defense industry
Experience with quality manufacturing system and understanding of specifications, gage certification, capability analysis, data and defect analysis, variance reduction, etc.
Proficiency in using a wide variety of precision measuring instruments (i.e. micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.)
Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical specifications.
