Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing team you will be responsible for leading the ongoing development, maintenance, and improvement of our Integrated Management System (IMS), conforming to ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards. This role plays a key part in ensuring regulatory compliance, driving continuous improvement, managing customer complaints, and supporting a strong culture of safety and quality throughout the organization. The quality engineer also works closely with internal production teams, sales teams and suppliers to identify root causes to issues, propose solutions and track progress in delivering resolutions.

Responsibilities



Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures in accordance with industry standards; Identify supplier quality issues and facilitate corrective actions as required; Serve as the Internal Management System Representative, ensuring effective implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental), and ISO 45001 (Health & Safety) standards across the organization; Lead internal audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, safety, and environmental performance; Investigate customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis (5Y, 8D, etc), collaborating with cross-functional teams (production, lab, sales, supply chain/supplier quality) to implement corrective/preventive actions; Ensure that lessons learned from current quality issues are fed forward into our IMS to prevent similar issues from happening in the future; Regularly report on quality-related issues, and the status of resolutions at leadership meetings; Maintain and improve documentation for procedures, work instructions, and quality records in alignment with ISO and regulatory requirements; Analyze quality data and trends to identify areas for improvement and prepare performance reports for the Board of Directors and senior management; Collaborate with the Management team to monitor compliance with legal and customer-specific requirements; Facilitate and deliver employee training programs related to quality; Support risk and hazard identification, safety inspections, and the development of safe work procedures; Coordinate Management Review meetings and provide strategic recommendations based on audit findings, customer feedback, and system performance; Any other duties as required.

Qualifications



Post-secondary education in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field. 5+ years of experience in a quality or compliance role within a manufacturing or chemical environment preferred. Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards. Demonstrated experience managing Integrated Management Systems and leading internal audits. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Strong analytical skills to identify patterns, trends with data analytics tools. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with suppliers, internal teams and all levels of management. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and adaptability. Certified Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor for ISO standards. Familiarity with chemical manufacturing environments and safety regulations. Experience with customer complaint handling systems and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., 8D, CAPA, FMEA).

Pay: $60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
