We are having an open vacancy and seeking a Quality Engineer. The Quality Engineer reports directly to the head of Quality for Vexos Markham and is part of the Vexos QA (Quality Assurance) team who are responsible for Vexos' Quality Management System. The Quality Engineer acts as the direct customer quality support contact for Vexos customers and participates internally at Vexos, with multifunctional teams, and externally, with suppliers, in quality planning, risk assessment, corrective, preventive, problem-solving and improvement activities, all to ensure compliance with requirements and a high level of customer satisfaction.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Resolution of Customer quality complaints and concerns, Supplier and internal quality issues promptly and efficiently. Document and address customer complaints, initiate and manage internal, external and supplier corrective actions.
Product quality improvement. Monitor product quality performance, review external and internal product failures. Feedback into Vexos QMS/improvement processes. Initiate Corrective action as required.
Product Quality Planning. Identify critical product quality requirements and potential risk areas. Ensure appropriate quality processes and controls are in place.
External Interface for Vexos on Quality (customers and suppliers).
Perform internal and external audits, based on ISO9001 / ISO13485 requirements as part of Vexos' internal audit team. Perform product quality product audits where required.
Regular Product/Commodity/Customer Quality Performance reporting. Analyze performance data to prioritize and execute improvement activities.
Manufacturing process quality improvement through identification of risk and participation in improvement efforts.
Generate quality procedures, documentation to support Vexos QMS registrations.
Disposition of Non-conforming product.
Support for Production QC staff as needed.
Perform other tasks as required.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Understanding of general electronic manufacturing processes, practices, and components.
Strong understanding of Quality processes and analytical tools, such as 8D, FMEA, Ishikawa, etc.
Good knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO13485 medical device QMS requirements.
Good understanding of IPC-A-610 acceptance requirements.
Fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Good presentation skills.
Internal and external auditing qualifications and experience.
Professional writing skills with experience in drafting Quality Management System procedures.
Experience in the electronics industry is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree, preferably Electronics and/or Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of electronic or related manufacturing experience.
Formal education in both Quality and Engineering disciplines.
LOCATION
The position location is based in Markham, Ontario facilities (Building A at 195 Royal Crest Court and/or Building B at 3930 14th Avenue)
Incumbent must be open to working at both facilities as business and operational needs dictate
WORK HOURS
Regular office hours: 8:30AM - 5:00PM
Flexible work schedule arrangement option available
Periodic travel may be required
