Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer is primarily responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues, maintaining Quality Management System, developing, and maintaining QMS documents, conducting audits and management of the corrective/preventive actions to ensure continuous improvement.

Responsibilities



Implement and maintain the Quality Management System ISO 9001:2015 Conduct and host QMS and Health & safety audits. Manage the internal and external NCRs, participating in root cause analysis and implementing the corrective actions. Use problem logs to identify and report recurring issues to management and product development team. Work closely with various departments including production, engineering and supply chain to meet quality objectives. Ensure that products comply with relevant regulations and standards. Evaluate the new suppliers and maintain the approved vendors list. Develop and maintain QA/QC procedures, work instructions and forms. Oversee the maintenance of Calibration process. Promote Quality and Health & Safety achievement across the organization through the establishment and maintenance of KPIs. Analyze quality data to identify the trends and prepare reports for management. Facilitate the training sessions on quality and health & safety standards. Participate in continuous improvement process, by implementing 5S and Lean manufacturing techniques. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications



Minimum 3 years QA/QC experience in manufacturing environment. Bachelor's Degree in quality engineering or related technology or equivalent. Minimum of 4 years experience in a manufacturing facility that offered the opportunity to gain a well-rounded background in quality engineering. Knowledge about Health and Safety standard, COR. Experience with technical writing - including SOPs and other documentation. Computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and experience with ISNetworld and ERP systems. Engineering degree, CQE, CAD, COR, Six Sigma Lean certificates would be asset. Six Sigma Lean/5S Methodology certificates an asset. Strong organizational skills. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives are prerequisite. Strong analytical ability. Strong decision making and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated good internal and external customer service skills. Good presentation skills.
