The Opportunity

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer is responsible for assigned Quality risk and cost prevention and correction systems. Key elements of the systems include advanced quality planning, pre-production approvals of Traded goods, monitoring and support for auditing and inspection programs with suppliers of Finished Goods, analysis and dashboard reporting of field/use Quality results, and customer and consumer escalation management and resolutions.



In this role you will:



Work with Project Management, Quality, and Engineering teams both inside and outside the organization, to ensure the suitable completion of supplier production approvals and change controls Support new product introductions and process validations, ensuring quality is built into design and manufacturing Extract data from a variety of systems to provide details of risks, costs, failures, and causes Perform regular reporting to track sources of quality costs from returns, warranty parts shipments, and warranty service Develop and implement quality metrics and dashboards Liaise with Glen Dimplex factory Quality Managers and staff to standardize processes and systems across the organization Develop and maintain documented processes within the Quality Department and broader organization Initiate, investigate, and track corrective and preventive actions Work with Sales and Customer Service to investigate, understand and respond to customer and consumer escalations related to product Quality Work with Internal and external Quality, Production, Engineering and other departments in failure and claim testing, root cause analysis and resolutions relative to claims/complaints regarding product performance Work with regulatory bodies to document and resolve consumer product incidents with possible safety related concerns Represent the organization in external quality investigations Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement projects

What You Need

Five years of experience with the design and analysis of electrical consumer products A degree or diploma in electrical/electronic technology or related fields of study A CQE or related designation would be considered an asset Strong data analysis capabilities utilizing Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Power BI and related software tools Strong ability to effectively summarize data including identification of trends and patterns Experience driving root cause analysis and preventive action implementation Strong written and verbal communication skills A self starter who can work independently and balance multiple simultaneous actions This position will involve some travel to our London ON factory/warehouse, and may involve less frequent travel to other locations
