We are seeking a
Quality Engineer
to join our team. This role will be responsible for managing quality processes, supporting supplier and customer concerns, and ensuring compliance with IATF 16949 and VDA standards.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Responsibilities:
Review customer portals daily and report issues.
Initiate and manage quality alerts.
Implement and monitor containment activities, including management of the Hold Area.
Lead and participate in corrective action meetings (internal and external).
Oversee QA cage and Hold Area for non-conforming materials.
Communicate with customers to resolve quality concerns.
Support CT product audits as needed.
Perform receiving inspections and maintaining documentation.
Issue ICARs (Internal Corrective Action Requests) for supplier issues and manage chargebacks.
Maintain the RMA (Return Material Authorization) log.
Provide on-floor support to QA Technicians.
Manage the calibration program, including scheduling and documentation.
Coordinate external calibration service providers.
Apply green labels and maintain records during receiving inspection.
Review and file Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for all resins.
Manage LPA (Layered Process Audit) schedule, record findings, and report KPIs.
Maintain KPI files for Quality, Calibration, LPA, and PPM metrics.
Additional Quality Engineer Responsibilities:
Visit customers to resolve quality-related concerns.
Visit suppliers to address issues and drive improvements.
Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance and performance.
Perform internal audits in accordance with IATF 16949 standards.
Travel within the US and Canada as required (valid passport; Canadian citizenship required).
Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
Apply knowledge of VDA standards, particularly VDA 6.5 (Product Audit) and VDA 6.3 (Process Audit).
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Engineering, Quality, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a Quality Engineer or similar role in
automotive manufacturing
.
Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings with GD&T.
Experience with VDA 6.5 and VDA 6.3 audits.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Valid passport; Canadian citizenship (mandatory for cross-border travel).
