RESPONSIBILITIES:



The Quality Engineer will play a pivotal role in driving a culture of quality excellence at WOLF. Reporting to the Chief Quality Officer, this position is responsible for ensuring that products, processes, and suppliers consistently meet rigorous aerospace and defense standards. The successful candidate will combine technical expertise with a continuous improvement mindset to strengthen quality processes, reduce nonconformances, and support compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.

Maintain and track internal and vendor NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and CARs (Corrective Action Requests), OTD (On-Time Delivery). Develop, maintain and report KPI metrics.

Support Corrective Action investigations and response development with robust root cause analysis tools and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

Participate in regulatory and customer audits and perform internal audits. Lead lessons learned initiatives.

Ensure compliance with ITAR, CGP, and other export-controlled processes.

Support configuration management, CCB and MRB processes.

Develop, implement, and monitor key quality metrics to drive visibility into process performance and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Support lean initiatives and Six Sigma projects to reduce defects, cycle time, and costs.

Partner with manufacturing teams to identify systemic issues and implement sustainable process improvements.

Lead structured problem-solving activities using tools such as 8D, 5-Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and FMEA.

Conduct trend analysis of NC logs, inspection data, and supplier performance to recommend improvements.

Support supplier evaluations, audits, and performance reviews to ensure conformance to aerospace/defense quality requirements.

Manage inspection and quality assurance of incoming PCAs, PCBs, and materials.

Create detailed inspection reports and ensure traceability of product acceptance.

Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and engineering to address supplier quality issues.

Support design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for quality (DFQ) initiatives by reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and documents.

Act as a technical quality resource for Production, Procurement, and Engineering teams.

Provide guidance to technologists and engineers on inspection methods, tolerances, and standards.

Assist with troubleshooting of production issues to ensure timely resolution and minimal impact to delivery schedules.

Communicate effectively with customers during audits, quality reviews, and corrective action follow-ups.

Education Requirements:



Post-secondary degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related field.

Minimum 2 years of experience in electronics manufacturing or A&D production environments.

IPC-A-610 / IPC J-STD-001 certification required.

ASQ CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), Lean Six Sigma Certification, or equivalent quality certification strongly preferred.

Hands-on experience with AS9100D compliance, internal auditing, and aerospace quality systems.

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Power BI, PowerPoint); experience with SAP, Allegro, Omnify, and Keyence preferred.

Demonstrated experience in RCA, CAPA, and supplier quality management.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.

Skilled in statistical analysis tools (SPC, MSA, Pareto analysis, control charts).

Effective multitasking, organizational, and time-management abilities.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with cross-functional teams and customers.

High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

Assets:



Prior experience in A&D electronics manufacturing.

Familiarity with AS9145 Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requirements.

Exposure to NADCAP special process standards (coatings, heat treat, soldering).

Experience supporting internal/vendor/customer audits. Working knowledge of configuration management and product lifecycle systems in a defense/aerospace environment.

Working knowledge of

AS9100 quality standard

as well as IPC-610, IPC-7711 IPC-6012, and J-STD-001.

Experience leading or contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that deliver measurable improvements in cost, quality, or delivery.
