As Quality Director within Pomerleau's Major Projects team, you will ensure full control of the Quality Management System (QMS) throughout the project lifecycle--from design to final delivery--by coordinating audits, inspections, non-conformity tracking, and client communications. Working on large-scale construction projects ranging from $500 million to several billion dollars, you will lead the quality team, develop procedures and indicators, and consolidate reporting to foster a lasting quality culture across the project.
What you will do :
Ensure control of the QMS, including the development and monitoring of the Quality Plan, audits, and the main Inspection and Test Plan from the start of personnel mobilization and throughout all contract phases (design, factory development, and on-site construction).
Actively participate in quality meetings with the client and stakeholders.
Lead the team and its oversight activities to ensure the quality of the works as defined in the contract.
Plan, prepare, coordinate, and conduct internal QMS audits.
Ensure timely communication of documented quality information to the client's designated representative.
Identify, record, and manage non-conformities and corrective actions in accordance with contractual requirements.
Provide internal and external audit reports to the designated representative within ten (10) days of the control activity or upon receipt of the report.
Define and implement preventive and corrective measures to avoid recurrence of identified non-conformities.
Approve and forward Executed Works Reports.
Review and submit Inspection and Test Plans to the client before work begins, in accordance with contractual deadlines.
Monitor issuance and closure of non-conformities (NCs).
Track non-conformities and deficiencies, and coordinate visits related to Partial Provisional Acceptances (PPA), if applicable, and Final Acceptance of the works.
Prepare documentation required for PPAs and Final Acceptance.
Coordinate issuance of compliance certificates by the team according to project progress.
Develop procedures to ensure proper document and information management, both internally and externally.
Develop the Quality Management System in line with contractual requirements, project director policies, and agreements within the CJV.
Draft and maintain all plans, procedures, instructions, and indicators of the integrated management system.
Coordinate and organize all quality-related activities, including materials and laboratory operations.
Support all project departments on quality matters, recommending action plans and indicators and coordinating their implementation.
Manage all processes related to ISO 9001:2015 certification.
Promote a quality culture through training, awareness, and information sharing.
Participate in, manage, validate, and verify corrective and preventive actions resulting from complaints, audits, and management reviews.
Prepare and conduct project management reviews.
Consolidate all monthly, semi-annual, and annual quality reports for the CJV companies, the client, and other stakeholders.
This role could be for you if you have :
A recognized university degree (e.g., a bachelor's degree in Quebec) in a technical field such as engineering, combined with at least 15 years of experience on similarly large-scale projects, including underground works.
Strong rigor, autonomy, communication skills, and team spirit.
You hold a Lead Auditor certification for ISO 9001:2015 and have strong command of technical standards, contract management, and continuous improvement processes. You will be a driving force in proposing and implementing quality and continuous improvement initiatives, both functionally and operationally
