Job Description


EA SPORTS Security team is seeking a Quality Designer, also referred to as a Security Fraud Specialist, in our Vancouver location. This role is integral to ensuring the security of our games by working with development teams and addressing security incidents. You have a background in Quality Verification and an interest in video game security.

The Quality Designer (Security Fraud Specialist) will support security development, conduct testing, analyze data, and present findings to multiple audiences. You will also be responsible for designing, documenting, and implementing analytical solutions to enhance our quality processes. Reporting to the SPORTS Security Quality Verification Lead, the Quality Designer will work with several SPORTS Security teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish working relationships across the SPORTS Security Team.
  • Test security features, report bugs, and suggest improvements to enhance game security.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of quality strategies and test plans for assigned areas/features.
  • Propose solutions to quality issues with a creative mindset.
  • Use change control processes to assess the impact of evolving quality strategies.
  • Translate overall strategies into actionable plans.
  • Help identify technical solutions and opportunities for automation.
  • Use internal and external data to guide a data-focused, predictable verification strategy.
  • Enhance processes and promote knowledge sharing within the SPORTS Security QV team.
  • Provide regular progress and status updates to managers, Quality Designers, and other Security team members.
  • Mentor peers and aid in their professional development.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • 5+ years of applicable work experience.
  • A passion for games with a player first mentality.
  • Perform quality assurance on generated results to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Experience working in an embedded, integrated product team.
  • Interest in penetration testing and understanding cheating software and tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of software/game development, including both agile and waterfall methodologies.
  • Defect and Task tracking tool experience (JIRA, DevTrack, TestRail, or Hansoft).
  • Experience working within a continuous delivery or deployment model.
Nice-To-Haves:
  • 2+ years of experience with video game Game Security.
  • Ability to solve complex security risks, trends and threats to the product/service.
  • Knowledge in security feature backend and verification methodology for cheating and detection scenarios.
  • Work experience with medium-to-large-scale teams and distributed peers.
BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

HOURLY PAY RANGES
  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
\xc2\xba $63,350 - $108,550 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
