Permanent Full Time - Day/Evening (from 11am to 7pm) and Week-end Rotation



Job Summary:



The Quality Coordinator for the Nursing Department is a member of the healthcare team, who reports to the Director of Care. This role works collaboratively with the senior management team to plan, organize, direct and coordinate resident personal care services within approved policies and procedures; to promote and support PSWs and Registered staff to provide the best care possible in accordance with UCCC mission, vision and values and Fixing Act and Regulations 2021.


Key Responsibilities:




Oversees day-to-day operations and supervision of PSWs; acts as a resource, liaison, mentor, and coach. Ensures staff routines align with Home policies and procedures; monitors performance, provides training/re-training, and supports performance evaluations. Supports Registered staff and IPAC Nurse in promoting and following best practices; conducts and analyzes audits related to care, cleanliness, and infection control. Participates in and supports committees (Best Practices, Infection Control, CQI, Occupational Health & Safety) and presents findings at Quality Meetings. Leads Lift & Transfer Program including training and competency assessments for staff and students. Manages accurate documentation in Point of Care (POC) and supports daily assignment coordination, ensuring proper staffing on all shifts. Attends PSW meetings, and ensures PSW participation at the resident care conference. Welcomes new residents, ensures labelling of belongings and updates to resident information boards. Ensures open, professional communication with residents, families, visitors, and volunteers. Manages ordering, distribution, and auditing of nursing supplies and equipment, Ensures timely ordering and distribution of incontinent products Supports infection control during outbreaks and ensures equipment is functioning properly. Promotes safety in the Home by reporting hazards/equipment issues to leadership and OH&S Committee. Acts as a role model for collaboration and interdisciplinary coordination

Qualifications:




Minimum 3-year experience working as PSW in Long Term care setting Proficiency in Microsoft Office, knowledge of data base applications, and strong computer skills Experience with nursing scheduling Effective written and oral communication skills in English Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
