PURPOSE OF POSITION
The purpose of the position is to support quality launch documentations and aid with current quality system.
NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
The Quality Assistant is primarily responsible supporting PPAP and quality documentations and customer requirements. The QA will help maintain & monitor current Quality System documentations. The position interacts with all departments in order to organize Quality System documentation requirements. The position is responsible for his/her work assignments and does not direct the work of others.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Enrollment in a post-secondary education, preferably Quality or Engineering.
Knowledge and Skills:
Basic understanding of Quality Principles -SPC, APQP and PPAP - process capability indices Pp/CP, Ppk/Cpk. Some basic knowledge of gauging and usage - micrometer, caliper, CMM and functional or attribute gauges. Must have excellent Microsoft Office skills in order to create forms and documentation. Organizational skills, prioritizing skills and multi-tasking skills are required.
Communication Skills:
Excellent written communication skills are required in order to assist in developing work instructions, procedures and forms. Oral skills are required in order to problem-solve gaps in processes with all levels of employees in the company.
Nature and Length of Experience:
Similar experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is an asset.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support quality with data entry with designated software ex. IQS, Minitab and Microsoft office - Excel knowledge is a must.
Assist in developing and maintaining forms, documents, work instructions and procedures identified in the Quality System. The position does this by receiving information from managers and/or quality engineers and investigates to 'fill in the gaps' in information.
May support GOM running depending availability.
Performs all duties within the 5S standards.
Follows and performs to the instructions as outlined in the Work Area Reference Manual(s) applicable to the department.
Performs other duties characteristic of the job environment as requested by the Manager.
Responsible for working safely, complying with safety policies and procedures, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) required in the designated areas as per company policy.
