ABOUT THE ROLE
The QC Technician is responsible for safely implementing quality control for the production and shipping of Innocon products. The main goal of the technician is to ensure the quality and consistency of the concrete, provide logistics support on site, and help resolve any issues that may arise.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
Work in a safe and effective manner, following the Innocon Safety Program and applicable legislation.
Be directly involved in risk analysis for lab and field activities, and the development and application of improvement plans related to Health & Safety and ergonomics.
Ensure the Quality Plan for produced and shipped materials is applied across the local area.
Enter all testing results into the QC software and analyze them.
Share testing results with Operations teams to ensure products comply with specifications.
Provide site logistics support and act as a liaison between the customer and the business.
Test plastic concrete for air, slump, temperature, and mold concrete cylinders.
Assist in administrative activities and ensure all documentation is updated to maintain RMCAO Certification.
Participate in corrective/preventive action plans to improve quality.
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Secondary education with construction experience. Post-secondary education in Civil technology, engineering, or equivalent is a plus.
Experience in the construction materials industry (aggregates, asphalt, and concrete) is ideal.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to build good relationships internally and with customers.
Must be able to work well as part of a team and independently.
Driven, proactive, with high accountability, and self-motivated.
Good computer skills for Windows-based software.
Minimum G2 Driver's License
Additional Requirements:
The role requires working evenings and nights.
Must be able to work in outdoor and indoor environments in all weather conditions.
Availability for shift work is required, including potential overtime and weekend work to meet customer demands.
Able to perform moderate to heavy lifting, bending, reaching, and carrying.
The role involves handling cements, aggregates, concrete, and lab equipment.
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Innocon approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
