Job Summary



The QC Technician Co-Op position will support the Quality Control department in routine documentation, product release activities, and quality assurance processes. This role is designed for a student or early-career individual seeking hands-on experience in a regulated cosmetic or consumer goods manufacturing environment. The Co-Op will work under the guidance of the QC Coordinator and QC Chemists and report to QC Manager or Designate to ensure products meet internal and regulatory standards. Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and safety guidelines at all times.

Position type: 4 months contract, with the potential for extension



Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 - 4:30 pm



What you will do



Documentation & Record Management



Assist the QC Coordinator in compiling, organizing, and maintaining quality records, batch files, test results, and release documentation. Ensure accuracy and completeness of QC paperwork required for processing and product release. Help track and log data into quality systems or databases as needed.

Product & Packaging Release Support



Receive training to perform Cosmetic Packaging Releases in accordance with established quality procedures. Conduct visual inspections, label verification, component checks, and other release criteria under the direct supervision of QC Chemists. Document inspection findings and communicate any discrepancies to supervising staff.

Quality Control Operations



Support day-to-day QC laboratory activities, such as sample handling, inventory checks, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace. Assist with non-complex test procedures or checks as delegated by chemists or supervisors. Assist in the External Lab Sample Submission duties as per company SOPs including completing all required external lab submission documentation, coordinating with administration their submission, ensuring all related logs are updated accordingly for the submissions. Fulfill documentation requirements for all required BULK and Finished Goods batch documents Assist as required in Lab testing of raw materials, bulk and finished products against their specifications with compendial and/or Empack internal analytical methods Assist in Water sampling for Microbial and Physical testing as per Empack approved methods and prepare monthly summary sheets for water. Perform Daily water parameter checks and weekly water physical testing and updating related water logs Monitor the Temp and Humidity of the Stability Chamber Coordinate retention of all QC samples and maintain the retain log sheets Work in collaboration with Procurement for the required raw material vendors' Certificate of Analysis and internal Empack receiving records. Track all incoming Packaging Components and communicate with involved parties for any missing documentation Perform other duties as assigned by QC Manager or Designate.

What you will need:



Currently enrolled in a Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or related science/technical program. Knowledge in a cGMP environment, product knowledge and GDP training is an asset Excellent oral and written communication skills Microsoft Office Suite or related software knowledge. Eagerness to learn and take on new tasks. Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. Reliable, responsible, and committed to maintaining product quality and compliance. Comfortable working under supervision with increasing independence over time. Strong attention to detail and high level of organization. Ability to follow written and verbal procedures accurately. Good communication skills and willingness to collaborate with a team. Basic knowledge of laboratory safety; prior lab or manufacturing experience is a plus.
