Your Role

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Control Technician will be responsible for assisting with and supporting the maintenance of a successful Quality Assurance (QA) Program with the goal for continuous improvement. This position will help to improve and streamline NLM QA Program. They will work closely with each of New-Life\xe2\x80\x99s 5 Mill location Quality Teams to provide support to the program. They will also work closely with the Nutrition team on maintenance of the master sampling plans for finished feeds and ingredients.

Day to Day
  • Verification of monthly and annual test results completed by each mill according to their Task Matrix frequencies. Summarize and log all results, initiating CARs where deviations are identified and conducting root cause analysis which include determining necessary corrective actions.
  • Attend Monthly Ingredient Review meetings with NTI to follow-up on any laboratory or testing deviations noted which may include updates to Sampling Plans, follow up with mills or laboratory.
  • Update and communicate quality KPI metrics such as Task Matrix scores and other Monthly QA Metrics.
  • Complete Finished Feed result comparisons against label guarantees reporting results to Nutritionists for their verification or CAR initiation.
  • Review In-house testing results following up on any out of spec or missing results.
  • Periodically perform Internal audits in rotation with the QA Manager.
  • Periodically attend and support with External Feed Assure audits and CFIA Inspections.
  • Development and delivery of quality training plans and training of staff.
  • Review and approve Corrective Action reports for effectiveness on a regular frequency assisting with problem-solving and corrective action implementation, documentation, and resolution where appropriate.
  • Assist with Supplier and Ingredient Approvals and review through direction of QA Manager.
  • Assisting in the development of test methods and inspection plans.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of the Mill Quality Teams performance to the QA Manager.
Required Qualifications
  • Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Agriculture, Chemistry, or related fields
  • At least 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience directly coordinating a food safety program (HACCP / BRC etc).
  • Comfortable working in Microsoft Office with programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
