Norpac excels at servicing mine sites, hydro projects, highways, railways, private projects, oil and gas, remote access sites, helicopter access sites, federal projects (parks, forestry, department of fisheries and oceans) and many other clients. Norpac has a broad spectrum of services that it is comfortable undertaking including some of the following major tasks:

High angle rock scaling and rope access work Avalanche control systems and high impact fences. Shotcrete, shoring, & underpinning Horizontal drain hole drilling Micro-piling & foundation drilling Rock/slope mesh (drape, curtains, passive and active systems) Pressure grouting and grout curtains. Anchor installation (earth and rock) Avalanche control systems and high impact fences. Installation of slope monitoring systems (prisms, piezometers, inclinometers extensometers) Blasting & high angle rock excavation Tie back retaining walls and soldier pile walls. Rock carving (stamped and broom finished) Soundwalls

POSITION


We are currently seeking a temporary, full-time Quality Control (QC) Representative to join the Norpac team for the BC Hydro Revelstoke Dam Marble Shear Project, in Revelstoke, BC, from July to September 2025. The position will be based in the field and the QC Rep will report directly to the QC Manager or Project Manager. Five years of previous QC experience is required. The QC Rep will play a key role in conducting day-to-day inspections and documenting slope stabilization work. The work schedule will operate on a Monday to Friday basis for approximately three weeks, followed by one week off, then approximately another three weeks (schedule subject to change).

KEY REQUIREMENTS



Ability to work on a difficult terrain slope and in elevated work platforms. Perform QC inspections of various aspects of slope stabilization work. Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Document inspection findings accurately, including photographs, measurements, test results, and observations. Identify and report any non-conformities, defects, or deficiencies in slope stabilization work. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to address quality issues and implement corrective actions. Participate in pre-construction meetings, site inspections, and QC audits as required. Provide guidance and support to construction crews and subcontractors to maintain quality standards. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, promoting a safe working environment.

QUALIFICATIONS



Five years of previous experience in quality management systems and/or quality control inspection. Post-secondary education or training in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline is an asset. Quality Control Inspector Certification (not required but an asset).

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT



Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license. Willingness to work in a field-based environment and adhere to a schedule from July to August 2025.

COMPENSATION



Pay range between $35 to $40 per hour depending on experience. Overtime at time-and-a-half paid for time worked over 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Accommodation provided during shift, along with meal allowance of $65 per day.
