Role Summary
The
Quality Control & Quality Assurance Associate
will support the daily execution of
QA and QC operations
, ensuring compliance with
Health Canada, GMP, ISO 22716, and MoCRA
requirements. This role includes oversight of raw materials, packaging, production processes, and finished goods while coordinating testing, audits, and regulatory documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control (QC):
Manage
day-to-day quality control operations
across production.
Conduct
in-progress checks and line inspections
to ensure consistent quality.
Test and approve
raw materials, packaging, and finished products
.
Handle and
calibrate lab equipment
for accuracy.
Coordinate with
third-party labs
for specialized testing (e.g., microbiological).
Review and maintain
COAs, batch records, and stability test reports
.
Quality Assurance (QA):
Ensure compliance with
ISO 22716, GMP, MoCRA, and Health Canada
standards.
Develop, review, and update
SOPs, QA records, and compliance documentation
.
Oversee
lot coding, labeling checks, and traceability systems
.
Manage
Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support and manage
audits, inspections, and regulatory visits
.
Provide
QA/GMP training sessions
for staff.
Regulatory Support:
Assist in preparing
Cosmetic Notification Forms (CNFs)
and regulatory filings.
Ensure
labeling and marketing claims
are compliant with local and international guidelines.
Maintain certifications (GMP, ISO 22716, MoCRA, Health Canada Site License).
Address and manage
customer inquiries
related to compliance and product quality.
Basic Requirements
Bachelor's degree in
Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field
.
1-3 years of experience in
QA/QC, regulatory, or compliance
(cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or personal care preferred).
Strong knowledge of
Health Canada, GMP, ISO 22716, and MoCRA
requirements.
Experience with
audits, SOP writing, testing, and documentation systems
.
Proficiency in
lab equipment handling and calibration
.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
Bonus Skills
Experience in
cosmetic formulation or manufacturing
.
Knowledge of
international cosmetic regulations
(EU, UK, US FDA, Asia).
Familiarity with
QMS software
and regulatory submission tools.
Previous experience working with
auditors and third-party labs
.
