Position Overview

This role is crucial for maintaining the highest standards in quality assurance and quality control across thermal/conventional oil and gas projects. The successful candidate will contribute to the seamless execution of projects by overseeing weld processes, documentation, inspections, and testing activities.

Skills You Bring:

Ability to review IFC P&IDs, ISOs, structural, GA's, and vessel drawings to ensure appropriate WPS references, weld details, orientations, and overall accuracy.

Oversee the proper implementation of all QA/QC requirements on-site.

Ensure the successful kickoff of projects by completing pre-project documentation (e.g., Contract Reviews, ITP, WPS approval).

Perform pre-inspections and assist with material ordering and receiving processes to ensure conformance with applicable standards, drawings, and specifications.

Ensure proper weld mapping, NDE mapping, and visual inspection.

Monitor accurate NDE reporting and radiographic film traceability.

Ensure hydrotest packages are complete and witness testing activities to confirm adherence to proper testing practices.

Continually audit work in progress to ensure compliance with QA/QC and other project requirements.

Provide feedback to management regarding QA/QC matters and suggest improvements when needed.

Comprehensive understanding of WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications) and their application.

Knowledge of QA/QC requirements and NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) practices.

Identify and control all NCR's while correcting with remedial action.

Prepare required (regulatory) documentation and organize project files for final turnover to the client.

Ensure proper management, storage, and filing of all controlled documents.

Assist with training up and coming trades personnel in QA/QC practices and procedures.

Working knowledge of ASME and CSA codes and standards (Pressure Vessels, Process Piping, Pipeline, Structural).

Experience with Bluebeam, Excel, and Microsoft Office.

Knowledge of material grouping, classifications, and ratings to properly issue and identify materials.

Attention to detail and ability to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Experience with hydrotest packages and testing activities.

Proficiency in quality control auditing processes.

Strong communication skills for providing feedback to management.

Requirements

CWB Welding Inspector Level 2 certificate, up to date visual acuity record with any of the following endorsements B31.3, W59, and CSA Z662
