The Quality Assurance Inspector will be responsible to inspect the quality of work and materials. This includes inspection of incoming materials, process inspections, and final inspections.
Job Responsibilities
Refers to drawings, prints, specifications, charts, technical manuals, and/or procedures for inspections.
Visually inspects for surface defects, marks, and/or stamps as required.
Perform a variety of tests including magnetic particle, ultrasonic thickness, hardness, etc.
Measures, inspects, records, and reports test inspection results. Accumulates and files data, prepares test report data as required.
Performs all inspections required by standard manufacturing procedures (SMP). Signs documents, sets up and maintains files.
Assists with bills of lading (BOL) and certificates of compliance (COC).
Updates Quality Control Management (QCM) on improvements and issues.
Reports all Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and work with QCM and Plant Manager to develop a solution.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
Keeps work area clean and orderly, exercises all safety precautions.
Completes any other tasks as required by Plant Manager.
Education
Minimum high school diploma
Experience
1-3 years of experience in quality inspection is preferred.
Job Requirements
Level I
Qualified to perform specific examinations and calibration.
Qualified to perform evaluations for acceptance and rejection demonstrations except in radiography and ultrasonics.
Report to and receive information from a level II or level III individual.
Can perform inspection for military work
Level II
Qualified to direct examinations, set up and calibrate equipment, read and interpret indications and evaluate results for acceptance and rejection with reference to written procedure.
Level II is qualified to perform and interpret the numerical output only from a digital ultrasonic thickness meter and evaluate results for acceptance and rejection with reference to applicable written procedures and standards.

Tools and Equipment
Testing specifications, standard manufacturing procedures (SMP), micrometer, Vernier calipers, ultrasonic thickness tester, magnetic particle, hand tools such as hammer, tape, ruler, quality assurance (QA)/quality control (QC) written procedure and manuals, drawings, air hoses, sweeps, metal stamps, overhead and jib cranes.
Materials
Various head shapes, testing materials, mild steel, stainless steel, or aluminum plates and sheets.
Environment
Inside machine shop or factory type building. Slightly dirty, noisy, and not uniformly heated.
