Position Summary:



The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for supporting Maintenance, Turnaround, and Construction Supervisors and craft personnel by providing oversight and direction on inspections, testing, and quality documentation across welding, mechanical, rotating equipment, electrical, and instrumentation scopes. The inspector conducts spot checks and quality audits to verify compliance with applicable codes, regulations, client specifications, and internal procedures. Responsibilities also include collecting, generating, verifying, and maintaining all required quality records, and preparing complete turnover documentation for submission to the client.



Key Responsibilities:



Ensure full compliance with CAM's Quality Control Program and all project-specific ITPs. Review engineering drawings, specifications, and field documentation to verify use of current approved revisions. Liaise with client inspectors and Authorized Inspectors (AI) at required hold points. Conduct receiving inspections and assess vendor-supplied equipment for visible damage or deficiencies. Validate traceability and documentation of materials, including MTRs and heat number mapping. Confirm welder qualifications and WPS alignment with scope requirements. Inspect fabrication, erection, and equipment installation work for code and specification compliance. Manage issuance and storage of welding consumables, including electrode control and oven monitoring. Observe in-progress work to ensure adherence to WPS and welder qualifications. Perform visual weld inspections and maintain accurate weld logs and traceability maps. Coordinate and oversee all NDE activities; review results and verify technician credentials. Evaluate radiographic reports for compliance and identify areas requiring repair. Verify post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) and stress relief records. Witness pressure testing and confirm use of calibrated instrumentation. Conduct closure weld and flange bolt-up inspections. Ensure "as-built" drawings are accurately updated and submitted as part of system turnover. Issue and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and follow through on resolution. Maintain complete and organized quality records to support system turnover documentation. Participate in system walkdowns and final client inspections. Conduct field audits related to welding processes, material traceability, equipment calibration, and general workmanship. Perform MT, PT, or UT if certified to CGSB Level I or II standards. Develop and submit ITPs for client review and approval based on work package requirements. Support procedure qualification, welder testing, and orientation processes. Provide routine updates and interface with the Site Quality Control Manager.

Qualifications:



Valid CWB Level 2 Welding Inspector Certification (required). Proven commitment to maintaining a safe and high-quality work environment. Minimum 5 years of quality inspection experience in maintenance, capital projects, or industrial turnarounds. CGSB Level I or II certification in MT, PT, or UT (as required by scope). Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, API). Strong technical knowledge of welding methods, NDE, and quality documentation. Certification as a Professional Engineer or equivalent technical trade/inspection experience is an asset. Ability to review radiographs and conduct independent field inspections. Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and ability to write technical documentation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in pressure testing protocols, system turnovers, and client-facing inspections.
