Job Summary

Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for maintaining the Quality requirements on various projects in a shop environment. This includes IWL Steel Fabricators standard quality requirements, contractual requirements and construction code / legislative requirements. The Quality Control Inspector will work closely with production staff to provide technical support, perform the required Quality inspections and maintain documentation.

Duties

Perform inspections as required by the Inspection and Test Plan Review of drawings to ensure components comply with the design requirements Document inspections as required and compile turnover documentation Identify and document non-conforming work and assist in determining remedial actions Educate shop personnel on the required standards Monitor in process welding and fabrication to ensure compliance with the applicable codes, welding procedures, welder qualifications Assist in internal and external audits as required Coordinate with NDE contractor, review NDE reports to ensure accuracy.

Qualifications

CSA W178.2 Level 1 weld inspection certificate - ASME B31.3 code endorsement considered an asset 2 years quality control experience Basic knowledge of NDE processes Previous experience with ASME B31.3, ASME Section IX, CSA W59 and CSA W47.1 codes of construction Highly motivated and self-directed with the ability to work independently Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time in a fast-paced environment
