Summary




The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager will oversee the activity of the quality assurance department and staff, developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for the organizations products and/or development processes.

Key Responsibilities



Developing, reviewing, and maintaining SOPs & Quality Management Programs, Operational programs, Safety Programs, Environmental programs and projects to ensure GPP compliance under the Cannabis Act/Regulations. Work cross-departmentally to implement SOPs (i.e. Operations, Regulatory, Security, Safety, Environmental) Establish and maintain record keeping systems and ensure employee adherence to proper documentation practices. Perform analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary Oversee the QMS Sub-system at a site level, and perform review/approval of Change Management, Deviations, OOS Investigations, Customer complaints, Non-conformances, Corrective / Preventative Action (CAPA), Internal and vendor management To review regulations, documents and reports pertaining to the Cannabis Act, Non-confirming Reports (NCR), Corrective Action Reports (CAR), Food and Drugs Act (FDA), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and Pest Control Products Act (PCPA). Support validations and qualification programs, coordinate analytical testing using validated methods, interpret results and release Cannabis products for sale Ensure calibration and preventive maintenance status of equipment/instrument/ components. Coordinate all key product quality issues such as complaint handling, recall coordination and investigations Perform Quality Assurance functions such as batch/lot record review and release, deviation/failure investigation, change evaluation, product sampling and retention, document control and record management to ensure process and product compliance. Coordinate external testing of materials/ products, bulk and finished product as per approved specifications. Plan and perform GPP/GMP training programs for Staff, Management and Supervisors. Assist Health Canada auditors with inventory, sales and compliance audits. Assist in collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, recalls, corrective actions and re-validations. Execute QA plans by assisting in conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions and verification procedures for all Cannabis products. Understanding microbial and chemical contaminants and their meaning when outside of the generally acceptable tolerance limits. Oversight of an effective sanitation program to ensure production, packaging, labeling and storage activities involving cannabis are conducted under sanitary conditions Ensure annual production review , preventive control plans and internal self-inspections are conducted in compliance with regulatory requirements Review product labels and other required product documentation to ensure compliance Qualifications Monthly CRA and CTLS inventory reporting and NNCP submissions as required Working closely with lab technician to ensure calibration and validation of equipment's such as HPLC and GC were conducted periodically. Other duties as assigned by your Manager.

Qualifications



A Bachelors Degree in a Science related field from an accredited post secondary institution. Minimum three (3) years of senior management level Quality and Manufacturing experience in a pharmaceutical, nutritional, food or health products manufacturing environment. Cannabis experience strongly preferred Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing operations and Knowledge of pharmaceutical, food and natural health product o regulations an asset Experience with manufacturing and inventory management o software, LMIS software systems, and other QA tracking database systems an asset Health Canada security cleared with QAP status (preferably)
