Job Description


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate and manage all internal non-conformance reports (NCRs) by doing the following:
  • Coordinate and documenting the correct reporting of each NCR.
  • Ensure the root causes are properly assigned and pareto charts populated.
  • Assign action items that come from NCRs.
  • Facilitate meetings to routinely close NCRs.
  • Manage NCR data on visual management boards.
  • Optimize process where opportunities are identified.
  • Facilitate and manage customer complaints by doing the following:
  • Coordinate customer complaint review (CCR) meetings for every customer complaint
  • Assign actions items from CCR meeting and schedule potential 5Why session.
  • Follow up on action items and work actively to help complete them.
  • Hold 5Why sessions to close off customer complaints.
  • Create reports for customers when required.
  • Optimize process where opportunities are identified.
  • Assist in Quality Management System Implementation by doing the following:
  • Assist in documenting Quality Procedures and Manuals and records.
  • Facilitate Root Cause analysis and problem-solving efforts.
  • Assist in conducting Internal Quality Audits and perform tooling control and calibration record maintenance.
  • Assist in implementation of SPC (Statistical Process Control) techniques.
  • Prepare and present monthly COQ reports.
  • Operations support
  • Work closely with operations group in support of key production & process improvement projects
  • Projects will typically require in depth analysis, rework, or complications.
  • Collect data and present it in a simple format to facilitate problem solving or reporting to customers.
  • Continuous Improvement & Development projects
  • CI & development projects can come from all parts of the business.
  • CIC will work closely with entire operations team as well as R&D group.
  • Will involve managing entire projects that may involve but are not limited to:
  • Initial research
  • Project scoping
  • Project planning
  • Design work
  • Manufacturing
  • Test planning and execution
  • Report generation
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
  • Post-Secondary education \xe2\x80\x93 Completion of University in Technical discipline (Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred)
  • 1+ years of experience in a quality or continuous improvement role within a manufacturing facility.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management System Implementation is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Machining in an engineered-to-order business is an asset.
  • Experience/exposure to the injection molding industry considered an asset.
  • Strong communication and computer skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
